Car Rental Company Went MIA

A Facebook user posted a complaint (which was featured in our Complaint Singapore Facebook group too) and reported a Singapore-registered car rental company went “MIA – Missing-In-Action”.

He had rented a Audi A5 car from the said Singapore Company on 9 March 2019 for a period of one month, with an agreed rental of S$2000 per month and a refundable deposit of S$3000.

However, after the car was returned after the rental period, the said car rental company did not refund the deposit till now and went uncontactable.

Despite several attempts to visit the business officer and even the business owner’s landed house in Singapore, complainant was unable to locate them. A police report was lodged.

Anyone with any information of the owners of the car rental company may contact us.

Below is the original Facebook post content:

Rented Audi A5 from Raffles Fleet Pte Ltd on 9 March 2019 for 1 month. Agreed rental is $2000 and refundable security deposit is $3000. Up till now, they have not paid back my deposit and ran away. I have reported police already, but I am not the only person who got scammed by this guy. As I have went down to their office and the current tenant said they have moved out and I am not the only person looking for them to return my deposit. He also said that CID had came to the office to look for them.

I even went down to their landed property house at XX grove drive where I collected the Audi A5. And the maid there said they had moved out already.

Please beware of this scammer (Ash) and his dad (James), (they both run the company together).

Anyone has whereabouts on them please let me know. Thanks and much appreciated.
