Under the National Symbols Act and Regulations, it is illegal to display or cause to be displayed a national flag that is not in a proper and clean condition or is physically damaged, the offence to display of a damaged or dirty flag incurs a maximum penalty of a S$10,000 fine and/or 6 months in jail, in Singapore.
