Dishonest IT Shop Selling Fake Software?

Several complainants posted online and also in our Complaint Singapore Facebook Group, about an errant Computer Shop located in Sim Lim Square in Singapore, was dishonest in their business dealings.

According to one of the complainants, not only that he had overpaid for a laptop from the said shop, he was also being sold a MS Office software that have a license code cheaply printed on a tiny slip of paper, and stapled on a piece of paper which looks like an installation guide!

Some Facebook users online commented that they faced the same issue too, another event claimed her daughter was given a USB drive with the MS Office in it for installation..!

Many felt cheated, as according to Microsoft, a standard MS Office software should comes with a proper standard retail box instead.

Let’s hope the best for our member, and at the same time, we would like to urge everyone to be cautious when buying any IT stuffs during fairs or exhibitions especially.

If unsure or in doubt, it is always highly recommended to get someone who is more IT-savvy to accompany you down instead.. Just in case!
