Fake Singapore Car Plate in Malaysia?

**Updated: LTA is currently investigating into this case, you may see the news article at the bottom of this article**

A male driver of “Gold” colour BMW 320i – SLX 27 E was reported by online Facebook user on 18th May 2019, for changing his license plate at a Johor Bahru petrol kiosk, to a Hyundai Elantra, with license plate number SKD 2777 C.

According to various sources in Facebook, the said BMW driver openly changed his license plate at a crowded petrol kiosk and got his photographs taken by a fellow driver..

In the photographs below, the said errant driver was clearly doing something with his vehicle’s license plate..

.

A quick search at One Motoring website clearly shows the vehicle information of both plate numbers:

SLX 27 E : BMW 320i
SKD 2777 C : Hyundai Elantra 1.6

.

It seems the said BMW is a habitual “speeding offender”, with the photographs (below) showing the same car with its “before and after” paint job, and with the original and fake plate, being caught on speed camera in Malaysia highway…

.

Here are the past speeding records of the said fake plate number, installed on the BMW:

.

The said “fake plate” BMW was even caught for speeding again, on 18th May 2019, during his trip in Malaysia, after caught changing license plate at the petrol kiosk..

.

Just yesterday evening, someone posted online, spotted the said errant BMW coming back to Singapore via checkpoint..

.

Should such errant driver be punished severely?

Will LTA take action against him as it happened in Malaysia, and not in Singapore at all?

Stay tune for more updates here..

*Latest Updates: LTA will be investigating this case as mentioned in local newspaper!
